My Hobbies
7/31/08 There is nothing like getting on the water in Jackson Hole, WY especially when it is close to 90 degrees farenheit! People do all sorts of unique water sport adventures from surfing surboards at the Lunch Counter rapid on the Snake River to running the various creeks and rivers around WY and ID. I am partial to kayaking the Hoback River and Snake River just a small peice down the road from Jackson. Not only is it possible to run short or long stretches, but is also possible to experience some incredible wildflowers en route to the put-in(river report: http://www.jacksonholekayak.com ). There is also Jackson Lake (http://www.nps.gov/grte/) and Palisades Reservoir for motor boating, wake-boarding, slalom-skiing, fishing and passing the day in utter beauty. Last, but certainly not least, the Grand Teton Music Festival(www.gtmf.org) has been off the hook, cooking up NASA fly buys set to festival orchestra concerts, to pastoral picnics followed by chamber musicians. A sight surely not to be missed! While you are at Teton Village be sure to check out the nearly completed aerial tram set to open this 2008-2009 ski season on December 20, 2008 according to Jerry Blann, the Ski Corp.'s CEO(www.tram-formation.com) . He affirmed this recently at a Realtor luncheon atop the gondola at the Couloir Restaurant in June. In retrospect, this summer has been phenomenal!
